“The shapes she creates are not hybrid. They were born before and after all the metamorphoses, which means they come from beyond... Their unshape lets a variety of shapes crop up to the surface (foliage, nets, birds, beaks, fish, bodices, weaves, corsets, hats, baskets, creels) without ever allowing them to come to life. Their unshape calls to all the shapes, deseeds them, destalks them, goes over them all again -like archetypes that would belong to no particular place nor culture, no particular imaginary world and yet would know them all. And that’s their magic.”
